The Thiérache – peace, space and character

Hotel Entre Nous is located in Rozoy-sur-Serre, in the heart of the Thiérache. This rural region in northern France, just across the Belgian border, is characterized by rolling hills, vast meadows, forests, and small villages. Truly a region with peace, space and character.
It is a region where the landscape sets the rhythm. No mass tourism, no busy roads, but silence, panoramic views, and a clear starry sky. It is precisely this simplicity that makes the region special.

Active in nature

The Thiérache is ideally suited for those who enjoy being outdoors.

  • Walking along country lanes, through vast forests, and across gently hilly terrain
  • Cycling past fields and charming villages
  • Mountain biking on quiet back roads and forest paths
  • Motorcycle and convertible rides on winding D-roads with little traffic

The rolling landscape makes every route varied and offers ever-changing vistas.

In the summer months, you can also cool off at small lakes and recreational ponds in the surrounding area.

For our guests, we have an extensive booklet available at the hotel featuring sights, villages, and possible excursions in the region. We would be happy to advise you personally on this.

Villages and towns within reach

Parfondeval (approx. 5 km)
Parfondeval is one of the officially recognized “Plus Beaux Villages de France” (Most Beautiful Villages of France). The village is known for its brick houses, half-timbered facades, and characteristic fortified church. A short walk through the village provides a good impression of the authentic character of the region.

Jeantes (approx. 12 km)
Jeantes is best known for the small church, the interior of which is entirely painted by the Dutch artist Charles Eyck. The colorful murals form a striking contrast with the austere exterior.

Although the immediate surroundings offer mainly peace and quiet, several interesting cities are within a comfortable driving distance.

Reims (approx. 1 hour)
The capital of the Champagne region. Here you will find the imposing Notre-Dame Cathedral, where French kings were crowned. In addition, Reims offers plenty of opportunities to shop, visit museums, or tour a champagne house.

Laon (approx. 40 km)
This city consists of a lower and an upper town. The latter is majestically situated on a hilltop. The old upper town, with its narrow streets and impressive cathedral, offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.

Guise
Located here is the remarkable Familistère de Guise, a 19th-century residential and commercial complex that was far ahead of its time and was founded by the manufacturer of the famous Godin stoves. Additionally, Guise is known for its Chateau Fort de Guise, a partially renovated castle that is well worth a visit. An interesting destination for those who appreciate culture and history.

Charleville-Mézières
Two cities that have slowly grown together into a twin city, situated on the Meuse. Charleville is only about 400 years old and is known for the elegant Place Ducale. The city has a rich history and is internationally known for its puppet festival. Mézières is over 1,000 years old and is nestled in the meandering Meuse. Both cities boast beautiful buildings.

Museums

Several museums and castles can also be found in the surrounding area. A booklet describing various excursions is available at the reception.

A region to discover

The Thiérache cannot be discovered in a single day. It is precisely the relaxed pace, the small roads, and the unexpected vistas that make a stay here special. Whether you set out for an active walk or simply want to enjoy the silence and space – the surroundings offer every opportunity.

Charging / Refueling

There is a public charging station with two connections (22 kW) in the parking lot opposite the hotel.

The nearest petrol station is approximately 1 km from the hotel (Euro 95 / Euro 98 / Diesel / Ethanol).
